It says in big red letters on the RT Systems website: "USB-57B cable required." They also require you to check a box that says you own the cable to purchase only the software. If that's what this is, would anyone like to purchase my copy of the RT-Systems software without the cable? Another cable purchase, especially for one that's functionally the same, is totally out of the question. I have already spent enough money on this radio. Someone PLEASE tell me that RT Systems did not code their proprietary software in a manner to only work with their cable, even though it's functionally equivalent to the Alinco one? Please check that the RT Systems USB-57B cable is securely in the USB Port. When I try to get data from the radio I get: Yet I have been happily programming the radio with the Alinco software and Alinco's cables. I just got RT System's software, but don't own their super special USB-57B. I think I missed something in the small print. Subject: RT Systems programming cable USB-57B Vista and most Window operating systems are junk. I have had the same problem with my ICOM but got it to work on Port 14 I think. The program just wont recognize any of my Vista USB Ports. I live close to them and they dont mind putting in the new updates for me.
